Ripplecom was established following the merger of two Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISP's) - Amocom Broadband and Callidus / Omnitel and includes Farmer Business Development (FBD) in its shareholder base. In May 2010 Ripplecom acquired the assets and customer-base of ICE broadband.

In May 2011, Ripplecom acquired the broadband network previously owned by Last Mile Broadband. This acquisition includes 2,200 customers in the Midlands and the entire Wireless Network Infrastructure of the Athlone-based wireless service provider. Ripplecom now operates in 21 counties, with 500 access points and over 8,000 customers.

Ripplecom is focused on the delivery of broadband and phone connectivity to Rural as well as Urban and Semi-Urban Ireland. The Company's core focus is to provide broadband connectivity to Residential, SOHO, SME and Corporate customers within an ever expanding footprint and will continue to work with communities to deliver a sustainable broadband service.

Ripplecom brings together an alliance of strategic partners that allows the delivery of enhanced services to new and existing customers. The ICE Broadband and Last Mile Broadband acquisitions re-enforce our relationships with these partners, including key datacentres and resilient fibre network providers.

The company now offers an up to 2Mb/512k broadband service as well as its up to 8Mb/1Mb broadband service, customers can also avail of a telephone service which is operated via broadband as opposed to a land line, which makes for savings of over €300 a year!.
