Find out how to set-up Ripplecom Broadband services for your platform:

Many factors can affect your speed, such as using your connection during peak times versus off peak times, distance from the mast and even weather conditions. Similar to almost all home broadband services, Ripplecom broadband is a shared service, and the speed is up to two or eight Mb. |
The first thing to do if your broadband is not working is to restart you PC and router. You can restart your router by disconnecting the power connection from the back of the router. |
Your wireless password is set on your router, Ripplecom does not set these unless you are using a Ripplecom router. To find your wireless password you can sign into you router to find out how to do this, please refer to your router manual for further information on how to do this. |
Yes you can game online with your Ripplecom connection, in some cases you may need additional settings in place for the best experience gaming. If you are having issues playing games online please contact the support desk for advice. |
We provide support by phone and email. Our support desk is open on Monday – Friday from 9.00am until 5.30pm and you can email support@ripplecom.net. |
Yes, a wireless router can be used with our service. When choosing a wireless router it is important that you get the correct type, some routers are designed to work with an ADSL service and these differ from the type needed for a Ripplecom connection. |
The Acceptable Usage Policy can be broken by a user excessively downloading excessive use of P2P programs, excessive emailing such as bulk mailing, a virus may also cause a breach of the Acceptable Usage Policy. |
If you break the Acceptable Usage Policy your connection may be limited or cut-off. If this happens a member of the support team will try to contact you and let you know so that the issue can be resolved. |
P2P programs are programs such as Utorrent, Azureus, Limewire and Frostwire, there are many more programs besides these which would be classed as a P2P program. Yes, you can use these programs with Ripplecom's service but we do ask that you limit the bandwidth, the number of connections and how often you use these programs. We ask you to do this as a P2P program left running in its native state can open up 1000's of connections to the internet at one time to download a file and this can very quickly break the Acceptable Usage Policy as it can affect other users on the same access point trying to use our service. By default most P2P programs will start up with your computer and work in the background quietly using your bandwidth. To limit the connections and bandwidth please see the help section of your program or the information can be found on the many user forums dedicated to P2P. |
Yes, there is a monthly usage cap for residential products that defines the amount of data you can use in a month without incurring additional charges. This size of this cap is dependent upon the product you subscribe to. The usage cap is measured on a calendar month basis. |
If you exceed your usage cap you will incur additional usage charges, Additional usage is measured in 10Mb units and each 10Mb unit is 1 cent (€0.01). Additional usage will appear on your invoice and the date that you incurred this usage will be indicated. |

Now to Set Up Your IP Address
|
![]() TCP/IP defines the language that your computer uses to communicate with other computers. We recommend using automated Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to automatically assign Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to the computers on your network, if your network supports it. If you use DHCP, then you don't have to change your settings if you move your computer to another location, and DHCP doesn't require you to manually configure settings such as Domain Name System (DNS) and Windows Internet Name Service (WINS).
